this first post will be slightly controversial. I started my ironman mainly to level it up and sell easy boss kills for in game gold to other ironmen who need(ed) the help to acquire key items that help with a solid start to the ironman part of the game.

Many people believe that they should earn everything without help and i fully support their idea, however, it is not how I play the game.

the day I finished my collection log at the in-game boss croesus, Jagex decided to make it so mainscape players could also help ironmen achieve these items that are considered to be “leeched” but we prefer to refer to the customers as clients. I was with a player versus monster service for a while selling croesus for in game gold because that is what i am good at and services is a great way to trade your time for a valuable amount of in game gold. At the time croesus was a boss that ironmen and mainscape players could do together and this was the first of its kind in that respect, and in the fact that it was the first boss that required gathering skills to vanquish versus combat trained skills with weapons, not tools. Do not worry, we are not hurting anyone.

my point to all this is that you are not required to leech any items but some basic items at the start help a lot to save time and i might have a chance to get into more details on this in a later post.
